Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Zach, I'm glad you're getting commercial sponsors. First, you merit sponsors. Second, your recommendations of sources are credible and important to your audience -- us. Third, you deserve financial income for the value and entertainment you and your family bring. Bring it on and congratulations. Dean from Edina

Very cool news Zach. As others have said, there’s a difference between people who have sponsors and you know they don’t believe in what they’re selling. And then there’s people who actually do take a vested interest in making sure they’re promoting a good company. Since I value your opinion, I’m definitely going to be checking out FBN. Thanks for the update.

All the power to you Zak. You gotta do what ya gotta do to put a roof over you families heads, food on the table and stay in business. We are losing so many farms per year in the US. It's pretty sad to see, so I support our decision 100%.

  30. Tim Kinsella

    Tim Kinsella

    Месяц назад

First of all, I support you in whatever decisions you make for your channel. Unless things change BIG TIME or the content takes a huge turn for the worse, I'm still going to be faithfully watching. But those statements really took me off guard, man. Saying that if you don't start bringing in money somehow then the channel is going to suffer. I am a huge RUchannel fan as well as a farmer. But my love for RUchannel is not limited to farming. I watch a variety of different channels. I know people on RUchannel that spend a ton more of their time than you do producing content and make a lot less, if any revenue off that content. They do it because it is something they enjoy. Whether their channel is based around what they do for a living or just a hobby they have, they do it because they enjoy it. And if it makes them a little money on the side, all the better. I remember you defending the fact that making content causes your work to suffer in the cartoon interview. And I fully understood that. I know that no matter how busy things get on the farm, there are always opportunities to pull the camera out for a few minutes and get a few shots of what's going on and talk for a couple minutes about what you are doing. And if it is taking you or your wife more than maybe an hour to chop that footage up and piece together a video than you are likely doing something wrong. As much as they may tell you that they want your content to stay the same, they are not just going to throw money at you for nothing. That sponsorship is going to influence your videos one way or another. I for one would much rather see less content than sponsored content on RUchannel. I mean that is really a lot of what RUchannel channels are all about. Independent videos without the influence of sponsorship. I love your channel, Zach. I really just didn't think this was a revenue producing venture for you as much as it was something you genuinely enjoyed doing. I hope you are right and the channel is going to continue to stay the same and like I said things would have to change BIG TIME in order to lose my interest. I always drop whatever I'm doing when I get the notification that you posted a video and I really hope that continues in the future. I wish you and your family a happy, prosperous and safe season in 19. Best wishes from Central Illinois. -Tim

Hi Tim, thanks for your honest opinion. The root of the channel is and always will be to be a voice for the ag industry. I do love doing it and don't intend to stop, but it has started consuming a lot of our time and we needed to make some choices in our life to decide to continue at this pace or spend more time on other things. Ultimately this was our decision. Of course FBN will want me to highlight their products and services but I'm confident I can blend that naturally and in an entertaining way with what I already do. I'm already using their platform and services so it won't be out of place. I hope you continue to enjoy the channel and thanks again for sharing your thoughts in such an honest and respectful manner!!

I know my comments will not be taken well by some but that is fine. You grew this monster to where it is today by choice. The channel is awesome and I love the content. But please don't tell us u need to add these sponsoring deals to your channel to assist with all the time u spend. I would rather have less content then more content with all the sponsoring BS. It seems to be growing and do we really need you to be pushing a free pair of boots on your channel? That to me was the straw that broke the camel's back. Get back to farming which is your full time job and move the channel back to a smaller commitment and less video's. Just my opinion. I know you are hard working folks. Cheers

Question. There was a very big report on Roundup in our food. That report said it was doing great harm to our health. How is what your doing different then them a food producer just pouring it into our food. Is it being used on our food crops safe? Thanks.

    • Michael Belden

      Michael Belden

      29 дней назад

+MN Millennial Farmer this is why I asked. In GM products with grain cereals they found a very high level of Roundup in the products at the Shelf. In turn they said there was now way they could get the chemical out of the crops even after processing. What I am concerned with all of the chemicals being used to make our food, is it going to become safer or is there still needs to be a concern? Just an honest question. My concern.

    • MN Millennial Farmer

      MN Millennial Farmer

      29 дней назад

That's a loaded question with a few different answers. First off, the science on glyphosate (roundup) shows that it's one of our safest chemicals for weed control. It also fails to show any evidence of it causing cancer. I understand there are conflicting reports and it's very hard to know who to trust. We spray glyphosate when the crops are very young, long before any seeds are growing on the plants so there shouldn't ever be any glyphosate left on any of our final product. We also spray a very small amount per acre. Most of what you see coming out of a sprayer is water to carry the chemical. It's very, very different from pouring it on your food.

I’m so glad you chain the dogs up when they are little so they don’t become a doggy pancake I would to have to go tell my kids there dog got run over because they didn’t move when someone was driving I respect you for that there will be people saying that chaining them up is cruelty when it is not so I have a lot respect for that keep them videos coming!!!

With the way that you advertise subtly on your channel, I love the sponsors. If it helps the creator I watch make more or make higher effort content, I’m all for it.

Zach this ⬆️⬆️ person doesn't deserve a ♥️ he is constantly speaking on the behalf of you and other large You Tube farm channels and berating Big tractor powers channel about his views and subs and how it taking away from your channel and others. Its unnecessary and garbage.
